The challenges that many women face today can derail a bright future. Academics often takes a backseat to these challenges. A college degree can level the playing field for women who are still dreaming of all they hope to become. This scholarship provides funds to women over 30 whose academic pursuits were stalled. It honors the belief that it’s never too late to realize your dreams of a higher education. Ideal candidates aspire to overcome their personal obstacles, or have inspired others through their character and actions, to overcome adversity - and dream big!

AWARD CRITERIA:

• Minimum of 30 years old

• Completion of scholarship application

• Character reference from a member of the community

• Currently enrolled or proof of acceptance in a college our university

• Planning to pursue or matriculating towards an associates or bachelor's degree

• Biography Submission (750 words or less)

• Completion of a "Dream Big" project (essay, podcast, or video) that highlights the candidates perspective on a chosen topic

 

The application window for this annual scholarship is December 1st – January 15th. Three (3) nominees will be selected from applications received to compete for the scholarship award. Nominees will be notified by February 1st . Each nominee will be required to complete the Dream Big scholarship project. The topic will be shared with nominees at the time of notification. Nominees must respond to the notification and sign the scholarship program agreement within the specified time required. Project submissions must be received by March 30th. Projects received after March 30th will be eligible for an award. The scholarships will be awarded at the annual Greater Impact Awards Program in May or June.

Scholarship Award:

1st place – Minimum Scholarship of $1500

2nd place – Minimum Scholarship of $750

3rd place – Minimum Scholarship of $250
